Noya is a Hebrew female name meaning “beauty” derived from Hebrew nói נוֹי (ornament, decoration, beauty).

Noya is also a surname: as a Galician surname it’s a locational name for someone who came from a place called Noia; as a Catalan surname it’s a variant of Noya, itself a truncated form of the Anoia river in Catalonia. Noia is a Catalan word meaning “girl”.

Noya is also a Japanese surname with a variety of meanings depending on the kanji used:

  • 埜谷 “open country, field” + “valley”
  • 能野 “ability; talent; skill” + “field, plain”

There are likely other meanings depending on the kanji used.
