Sabelina

Sabelina could possibly be an anglicized form of Zibellina, itself the Italian word for sable which refers to a small mammal belong to the genus Martessable also refers to the color black. The origin of sable comes from a Balto-Slavic word of uncertain etymology.

I’ve also seen Sabelina listed as a medieval form of Isabelthe medieval Occitan form of Elizabeth, the English form of Hebrew ‘Elisheva meaning “my God is an oath” or “my God is abundance”.

Origin: uncertain, Hebrew
