Ramses

Ramses is an anglicized form of Ramesses, an Ancient Egyptian name meaning “born of Ra” or “Ra is the one who bore him”, Ra being the Egyptian god of the sun and a central figure in the Egyptian pantheon; his name means “sun”. Ramesses is made up of Egyptian rꜥ-ms-sw- rꜥ (Ra), msj (to give birth to), and sm (him, he).
