Acer

Acer (pr. ace-er; Forvoaker in Latin, Forvois the name of a genus of trees commonly known as the maple. The name comes from Latin acer (maple) which also means “sharp, sour, bitter; keen, sagacious; violent, cruel) ultimately derived from PIE root word *h₂eḱ- (sharp).
