Aang

Aang is an Indonesian and Sudanese male name meaning “elder brother” or “older brother”, which comes from the Sundanese word, a variant of Akang.

Aang is also the name of the protagonist in the animated series “Avatar: The Last Airbender”. In the show Aang’s name is written with the Chinese characters ān 安 (peaceful; calm; tranquil) + áng 昂 (to raise, lift; rise), essentially meaning “peaceful soaring”.
