Boaz

Boaz (pr. bo-az) is a Hebrew male name of uncertain etymology. It could mean “in strength”, composed of Hebrew prefix ב be (in) and עזז azaz (to be strong, mighty). However, I’ve also seen it listed as meaning “swiftness”.

In the Old Testament, Boaz is the second husband of Ruth.

Origin: Hebrew

Meaning: uncertain, either “strength, in strength” or “swiftness”
